I’m happy that today I can present to you my first post from 2021. To start this new year I want to write about one of the best series from New Balance. This series is too special and made the late Apple CEO Steve Jobs take his part for the design.
New Balance 992 was released in 2006. This series was special to celebrate New Balance’s 100th anniversary. Jobs had been one of the biggest fans of New Balance since the series 99x.
Design and Function
The evolution of shoe technology growed together with digital technology. Both have the same idea to combine design and function.
It seemed that Jobs wrote a letter to the New Balance owner Jim Davis. Jobs asked about sporty and hip shoes which he could wear beside his leather shoes. He also put rough sketches which in the end became the basic design from these shoes. Later on, New Balance 992 became Jobs’ most favourite sneakers from the series 99x.
Cool and Timeless
Jobs wore New Balance 992 directly after it had been released. As a famous visionair, his style could very easily influence everybody in the world. People started to realise that Dad-style shoes can look super cool and timeless. New Balance also made multi colour ways for New Balance 992 to attract the attention from sneakers collectors or from people with modern personalities beside the classic colours.
New Balance 992 gives you comfort and stylishness. Even though the design looks bulky, it is light and gives a slim impression on the feet. It’s maybe a little bit pricey but it won’t disappoint you.
